Mastaney is set against the backdrop of 1739. It delves into the unexpected clash between Nader Shah’s formidable army and a faction of Sikh rebels. This Punjabi film weaves a fictitious narrative around five ordinary men who are thrust into the roles of Sikh rebels, ultimately undergoing a transformative journey that unravels the true essence of Sikhism.

Through meticulous storytelling, “Mastaney” draws inspiration from the teachings of revered Sikh warrior gurus like Guru Hargobind Singh, Guru Teg Bahadur, and Guru Gobind Singh, etching a vivid portrait of Sikh bravery.
